Rachel + Arthur Santorini, Greece

I am torn whether to write a novel about this wedding or sum it up it just one sentence…. I plan to try and find a happy medium here.

Rach & Athur booked me for a Canberra wedding 2 years ago. And even back then we discussed wild venues, crazy plans of photos with planes and many other out of reach notions. Within 6 months, there was a new plan. Let’s bring our families over to Santorini and have the wedding there. For some reason, bringing me along was always part of the plan. For me it was some kind of wacky made up dream. Fast forward all the intense planning and the wonderful Pete and I found ourselves on a photographer’s haven of stunning, breath-taking, jaw dropping scenery and right in middle of 2 incredible families.

6 amazing days were there to be had and it was the most overwhelming feeling to be invited and welcomed. I stressed, I cried, I felt pain in my chest but threw myself, Pete and anything else I could at it. Not only did I love the experience but I loved the people, I LOVED Greece and loved that I found 2 (and many more) wonderful friends that live in my home town!!

Hope that the following will tell many more wonderful stories of an incredible day I will never forget. Share the love and some some “ENCOURAGEMENT”!!!!

  1. *siiiiiiiiiiiigh* Oh my MissKT, I could look at these photos forever. KelsBels, you have just caught so many perfect emotions of this stunning wedding…and every.single.time I see images from this wedding, it’s like I am right there, feeling the sea breeze and grinning along in excitement… I think my fave image is the wedding party at ‘the edge of the earth’ orrrr, it could be the B&W of the solitary bride with veil being whipped into the air…(Oh look, I wrote a novel ;))

  2. Words cannot express the magic you have captured… 2 years in the making,4 liters of santorini black sand, 80 birch wood cylinders from NZ, 40 Aussies flying to Greece , 1 donkey, 90 crazy steps top to bottom of the hotel and 2 very happy yet slightly crazy newlyweds!!!

  3. Kelly, you possess such immense talent. There is no doubt in my mind you are one of the top photographers in the world. Simply incredible. Of course they took you with them!

  4. Amazing job by you and Pete! You really worked the locations. I felt like I saw the whole island even though I’ve never been there. I could see the connection you had with the couple and they had for each other. What fantastic memories to have!

  5. Kelly, I keep coming back to these photos to feast my eyes again and again. Every time I find a different favourite. Some people were put on this earth with a gift, and you are using yours to its full and very beautiful potential. xoxo

  6. Only just discovered your work recently. We too like everyone else think this is incredible. Makes me want to visit Santorini so bad.

  7. So many people have summed it up, WOW. What a great opportunity, beautiful images, love the processing, what better background for a wedding! Perfect stuff!

  8. Gorgeous! Really beautifully shot. The bride arriving by donkey is just so special! And the ceremony shots among all the spectacular scenery are very touching too. Beautiful work Kelly!
